The LAFON family became the owners of the “Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon” estate in 1999.
We have three large areas of vines:
7.59 ha in the Milly-Lamartine and Bussières area
6.94 ha in the Chardonnay and Uchizy area
6.58 ha in the Viré-Clessé area since 2009
The soils are argilo-calcareous and planted solely with Chardonnay. The vines vary in age from 20–40 years, except for the area in the Viré appellation, where the vines are up to 60 years old.
Even though the Estate is not officially certified, we’ve been applying the principles of biodynamics in cultivating our vines for many years.
Vinification is traditional and maturing takes place mainly in tuns and large casks.
